Costa Rica has a small but experienced film industry, used to international commercials, documentaries and TV. Our crew list covers every department:

How crew hiring works with Fonktown
- Tell us the departments you bring and the ones you need locally. Many productions travel with the director, DP and agency and hire the rest here.
- We send profiles and reels for the key positions within 48 hours of your brief.
- We contract the crew under Fonktown, so you get one invoice, local insurance and no payroll paperwork.
- On set, our producer and fixer run the local crew and the schedule in English and Spanish, together with the equipment and the permits.
Film crew in Costa Rica: frequent questions
Does the crew speak English? Our key crew does. Coordinators, DPs, gaffers and sound recordists work regularly with foreign productions.
How far in advance should we book? Two to three weeks for a standard commercial crew. The high season (December to April) and large productions need more notice.
Can you provide a full crew for a documentary? Yes: a two-person documentary crew with a local fixer is one of the most common requests we get.
