The Pacific coast has that easy, sunny energy that makes every shot look like a holiday. It’s the most accessible coast in the country, an hour and a half from San José by highway, and it has it all: the surf town of Jacó, the jungle-meets-beach postcard of Manuel Antonio, the fishing port of Quepos, the palm plantations of Parrita, crocodiles under the Tárcoles bridge and the calmer gulf beaches of Puntarenas. And if you venture a little further, the map opens up to the Carara rainforest, the palm plantations of Parrita and the mangroves of Damas. It’s no coincidence the Pacific is where so many international productions come to shoot beach and surf.
