It’s the heart of Costa Rica, home to most of the country and its capital, San José: urban, lively and surrounded by mountains and volcanoes in every direction. From the National Theatre and Barrio Amón in San José to the Basilica of Cartago, the coffee plantations of Heredia and Alajuela, the crater of Poás, the summit of Irazú above the clouds or the cloud forests and waterfalls of the surrounding hills, the valley offers options for every kind of campaign. And if you venture a little outside, the map opens up to the Orosi valley, the Sarchí artisan villages and mountain roads perfect for dynamic shots. It’s no coincidence the Central Valley is where most productions in Costa Rica are based.
